The Hartford Hawks men’s golf team began its spring season at the Sacred Heart Spring Break Invitational, held at Eagle Harbor Golf Course in Fleming Island, Florida, on March 10. The tournament featured teams from various divisions, with Hartford being the only Division III school in attendance.

The event is significant for the Hawks as it marks their entry into the spring competition schedule and provides experience against higher-division opponents. Competing against a strong field can help the team assess its progress and prepare for upcoming tournaments.

Freshman Tim Kaley led Hartford individually by finishing 30th overall with a score of +13. Kaley opened with a round of 71 and completed the tournament with a total score of 229. Freshman Griffin Lalonde tied for 40th place at +19, while freshman Shawn Amari and sophomore Ethan Archibald both tied for 44th. Freshman Zack MacMillan rounded out Hartford’s top five finishers in 48th place with a +28 overall. Rafli Sati from Merrimack College won the individual title by shooting three under par over the course of the tournament.

Manhattan College secured first place in the team standings with a combined score of +23. Hartford finished ninth overall with a team score of +70.

Looking ahead, the Hawks are scheduled to compete next in the Ruckus tournament in Williamsburg, Virginia, on March 21 and 22.
