Rep. John Larson, a long-standing member of the U.S. Congress representing Connecticut’s 1st District, recently shared a series of pointed tweets focusing on accountability and legislative actions. Larson, who succeeded Barbara Kennelly in 1999, addressed issues spanning from Social Security administration decisions to legislative developments on tariffs, reflecting his active engagement on topics impacting his constituents and the broader public.

On April 2, 2025, Rep. Larson voiced concerns over actions by the Acting Social Security Commissioner in Maine which allegedly were canceled as “political retribution for Trump.” He emphasized the repercussions, stating, “E-mails revealed he knew this would increase improper payments & fraud. Dudek and Musk’s DOGE need to come before Congress UNDER OATH NOW!”

On April 3, 2025, Larson addressed a legislative matter, expressing support for the Senate’s response to former President Trump’s tariffs. He remarked, “Glad to see the Senate stand up to President Trump on his cost-raising tariffs. As a big fan of President Kennedy, there ought to be profiles in courage for the 4 Republicans who joined Democrats on this vote for the American people. Now it’s time for House Republicans to act.”

In a subsequent post on April 3, 2025, Larson invited the public to join a live discussion, highlighting ongoing concerns regarding Social Security and tariffs. He announced, “HAPPENING SOON: Join me live on @cspanwj at 8:45 to discuss Social Security and Trump’s cost-raising tariffs!”
