On April 5, 2025, Larson highlighted a local protest in Torrington, Connecticut, where participants gathered despite adverse weather conditions. The congressman wrote, “Torrington showed up in the rain to tell Trump and Musk, hands off! Their ‘DOGE’ wanted to close the Social Security office that serves Northwest Connecticut. We won’t let Trump, Musk, and the billionaires gut our earned benefits!”
Later that evening, Larson acknowledged a gathering in Hartford that saw residents joining forces to defend their healthcare and retirement benefits. He stated, “Hartford, thank you!
