Rep. John Larson, who represents Connecticut’s 1st district in the U.S. Congress, addressed several issues on his social media account on April 17, 2026.
In a post from that day, Larson thanked Senator Whitehouse for his inquiries into alleged misconduct involving confidential data and election results. He wrote, “Thank you @SenWhitehouse for asking the tough questions. We already know ‘DOGE’ schemed to use confidential data to help overturn election results. New reporting shows that YOUR INFORMATION was copied onto a thumb drive for profit and personal gain. We need a real investigation!” (April 17, 2026).
Later that afternoon, Larson commented on former President Trump’s policies regarding environmental protection and public health funding: “President Trump already gutted the rules that protect us from pollution and fired the workers who hold bad actors accountable.
His budget would cut every penny states use to keep our drinking water safe, so his Big Oil benefactors can cash in. I’ll fight it tooth and nail!” (April 17, 2026).
Larson also congratulated Trinity College on being recognized for its campus: “Congrats @TrinityCollege for being named one of the most beautiful college campuses in America! Grateful to have such an important institution full of hard-working students and faculty in the heart of my district.” (April 17, 2026).
John B. Larson has represented Connecticut’s 1st district since replacing Barbara Kennelly in Congress in 1999. Prior to this role, he served in the Connecticut Senate from 1987 to 1995. Born in Hartford in 1948, Larson resides in East Hartford and graduated with a BA from Central Connecticut State University in 1971.
