Rep. John Larson, a U.S. Congressman representing Connecticut’s 1st district since 1999, addressed several national and local issues in a series of posts on March 7, 2026.
In his first post at 15:48 UTC, Larson thanked the Equal Rights Amendment Coalition for their advocacy work, stating, “Thank you @ERACoalition for your work to advance the Equal Rights Amendment. Every American should be equal under the law – and the ERA should be in the Constitution today. It’s an honor to receive the Equal Rights Champion Award as we fight for women’s rights together. #ERANow https://t.co/GWy2h7CLFD”.
Later that day at 18:13 UTC, Larson criticized former President Donald Trump’s approach to foreign policy regarding Iran, writing, “Trump is bypassing the Constitution again to wage war with Iran. Only Congress has the power to declare war. He must come before us. No President is above the law! We won’t stop fighting to end this illegal war and prevent another never-ending conflict. https://t.co/22J6BFgT9O”.
In a third post at 20:32 UTC, Larson highlighted efforts by Connecticut’s congressional delegation on infrastructure development in Hartford: “Our delegation has worked together for years to secure the funding needed to build a new courthouse in Hartford. This week, we announced a new agreement with federal officials to ensure local union construction workers are who will build it to last! https://t.co/gCRMKEvmEQ”.
Larson has represented Connecticut’s 1st District since succeeding Barbara Kennelly in 1999 and previously served in the Connecticut Senate from 1987 to 1995. Born in Hartford in 1948 and currently residing in East Hartford, he holds a BA from Central Connecticut State University.
