John B. Larson, a seasoned member of the U.S. Congress representing Connecticut’s 1st District since 1999, recently expressed his views on several issues through a series of tweets. Larson, an advocate for community and transparency, deployed social media to address various matters of public interest, ranging from religious observances to data privacy and social justice.
On March 30, 2025, Larson extended his warm wishes to those observing Eid. He tweeted “Wishing a blessed Eid to everyone marking the end of the holy month of Ramadan in Connecticut and across the globe.”
The following day, March 31, 2025, Larson raised privacy concerns involving prominent individuals and sensitive data. He stated, “There’s no reason for unelected billionaire Elon Musk and his DOGE cronies to have access to your sensitive data, including Social Security numbers and medical records. They need to come before Congress and testify UNDER OATH. They are not above the law!”
Marking the Trans Day of Visibility, also on March 31, 2025, Larson voiced his support for the transgender community. In his message, he affirmed, “On #TransDayofVisibility, we celebrate the transgender community and stand with them against discrimination. Everyone should be able to live their lives authentically and free from bigotry. My @EqualityCaucus colleagues and I will continue to stand up for LGBTQ+ equality.”
