Rep. John Larson, who represents Connecticut’s 1st district in the U.S. Congress, recently posted a series of statements on social media addressing issues ranging from public safety to immigration and alleged misconduct at a federal agency.
On March 14, 2026, Larson highlighted the importance of preparation for emergencies by sharing an incident involving law enforcement training. He wrote, “Officer Iurato shared this chilling story of an active shooter training exercise that became reality only hours later. We delivered federal funding to create an active shooter training facility in Bristol because when the unthinkable happens, preparation saves lives.”
Later that day, Larson criticized actions taken by officials from the Trump administration regarding immigration policy. In his post dated March 14, 2026, he stated: “Trump officials are rushing to the Supreme Court to reinstate Kristi Noem’s unlawful effort to deport Haitians fleeing violence. I stand with the Haitian community and all immigrant families wrongfully targeted by this administration’s cruel agenda.”
On March 15, 2026, Larson raised concerns about alleged criminal activity at an entity referred to as ‘DOGE.’ He wrote: “Last week, Commissioner Bisignano refused to answer questions under oath about alleged criminal activity at ‘DOGE.’ Now, there are new allegations that a ‘DOGE’ staffer took confidential records from Social Security for personal use. Bisignano, Musk & ‘DOGE’ need to come clean!”
Larson has served in Congress since 1999 after succeeding Barbara Kennelly and previously held office in the Connecticut Senate from 1987 to 1995. Born in Hartford in 1948 and currently residing in East Hartford at age 74, he is also a graduate of Central Connecticut State University.
