Rep. John Larson, a U.S. Congressman representing Connecticut’s 1st district since 1999, posted several updates on March 16, 2026, addressing energy infrastructure, public health policy, and concerns over data privacy.
In his first post of the day at 20:48 UTC, Larson highlighted the progress of a renewable energy project in New England: “Good news! Revolution Wind is now online and on track to power 350,000 homes across New England. This project – thanks to the hard work of union construction workers – will save ratepayers millions and be a reliable energy source for years to come.”
Later that evening at 21:57 UTC, Larson criticized Secretary Kennedy and an associated panel regarding vaccine recommendations: “Secretary Kennedy and his anti-vaccine panel just lost BIG in court! They tried to put their conspiracies ahead of children’s health – ending recommendations for lifesaving vaccines, like RSV, influenza, and Hepatitis A. RFK Jr. must resign before our kids pay the price.”
At 23:36 UTC on the same day, Larson addressed concerns about data security involving federal agencies: “The IRS leaked taxpayer data to ICE. ‘DOGE’ tried to hand over Social Security records to a group working to overturn elections. Trump’s ‘CEO of the IRS’ is doing nothing about it. @RepThompson and I won’t stop demanding accountability and justice for these illegal data breaches!”
Larson has been active in Congress since replacing Barbara Kennelly in 1999 and previously served in the Connecticut Senate from 1987 to 1995. Born in Hartford in 1948 and currently residing in East Hartford at age 74, he graduated from Central Connecticut State University with a BA in 1971.
