On April 7, 2025, John Larson criticized the cancellation of a program crucial for veterans. He stated, “Trump just canceled a program that helps keep veterans in their homes. The 80,000 veterans facing foreclosure in our country may have nowhere to turn. We need to honor their service with action, not go back on our promises after they served with honor.”
Later the same day, Larson applauded bipartisan efforts against cuts to the Social Security Administration, while also expressing disappointment. He remarked, “Glad to see a group of Senate Republicans stand with Democrats against cuts to the Social Security Administration. Shame on the others for voting it down. Trump and Musk’s cuts will make it harder to access your EARNED BENEFITS. Where are House Republicans?”
