Representative John B. Larson, serving in the U.S. Congress for Connecticut’s 1st district since 1999, frequently engages with local communities and addresses national policy issues in his communications. On April 23, 2025, he tweeted multiple times on various topics including labor, taxation, and commemoration of historical events.

On April 23, 2025, Larson shared his positive encounter with the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers at their new training center in East Windsor, stating, “It was great to meet with @IBEW Local 42 at their new training center in East Windsor. I’ve worked with our line workers to invest in electrical infrastructure upgrades in our state. I’ll continue to stand with you in the fight for good-paying union jobs across the grid!”

Later that same day, Larson criticized the Republicans’ fiscal policies and highlighted the economic impact of Trump-era tariffs on households. He tweeted on April 23, 2025, “At the same time that Republicans are trying to pass tax breaks for the wealthy, the Trump tariffs could cost the average household $4,900/year! Thank you to @AGWilliamTong and the multi-state coalition standing up in court to this costly abuse of power.”

In a commemorative message also posted on April 23, 2025, Larson honored Holocaust victims on Yom HaShoah, reaffirming a commitment to combatting hate. He wrote, “On Yom HaShoah, we remember the six million innocent Jewish lives taken during the Holocaust. We remain committed to speaking out against and addressing hatred, antisemitism, and bigotry in all forms.”

John B. Larson, a lifelong Connecticut resident born in Hartford in 1948, holds a degree from Central Connecticut State University and resides in East Hartford. He succeeded Barbara Kennelly in Congress and has been a proponent of both state and national issues since.
