Rep. John Larson, U.S. Congressman representing Connecticut’s 1st district, used his social media platform in early March 2026 to highlight efforts on veteran support, health care access, and clean energy funding.
On March 10, Larson wrote about supporting veterans in the Greater Hartford area: “Our veterans deserve unwavering support when they return home. That’s why I fought with @SenBlumenthal, @RepJoeCourtney and local leaders to expand mental health and suicide prevention services at @eastersealsCREC for 35,000 veterans in the Greater Hartford area.”
Later that evening on March 10, he criticized Republican actions regarding health care policy: “Last year, Republicans voted to kick 15 million Americans off their health care… to pay for tax breaks for billionaires and a $75 BILLION slush fund for ICE. Now, they’re eyeing even more cuts to Medicaid. Not on our watch!”
On March 11, Larson addressed clean energy initiatives and legal action related to solar panel funding in Connecticut: “Trump illegally canceled Solar for All funding and left 7,400 Connecticut households without the solar panels they were promised, to appease his big oil donors. We filed a brief in court to restore these funds. We’ll never stop fighting to lower costs and invest in clean energy!”
Larson has represented Connecticut’s 1st district since replacing Barbara Kennelly in Congress in 1999. Before serving in Congress, he was a member of the Connecticut Senate from 1987 to 1995. Born in Hartford in 1948 and currently residing in East Hartford at age 74, Larson is also an alumnus of Central Connecticut State University.
