Rep. John Larson, U.S. Congressman representing Connecticut’s 1st district since 1999, recently shared updates on his activities and priorities through a series of posts on his social media account.
On March 8, 2026, Larson wrote about his meeting with local financial institutions: “I met with Connecticut’s Credit Unions to discuss how to support credit union employees and ensure these community banks remain strong and serve our residents. As a member of a credit union myself, I’m committed to ensuring everyone has access to the services they provide.”
Later that day, he addressed national politics and economic issues in another post: “Trump is consumed with himself and gathering as much power as possible. He is doing nothing to lower costs for American families or make their lives better. I was proud to join the People’s State of the Union to hear their stories. That’s who we’re fighting for.”
On March 9, 2026, Larson highlighted efforts related to veterans’ affairs: “I enjoyed welcoming @CTVetsAffairs Commissioner Ron Welch to the nation’s capital and discussing the importance of serving our veterans across Connecticut. I’ll always fight for our servicemembers and their families, ensuring they have access to the support they deserve.”
Larson has represented Connecticut’s 1st district in Congress since replacing Barbara Kennelly in 1999 and previously served in the Connecticut Senate from 1987 to 1995. Born in Hartford in 1948 and currently residing in East Hartford, he graduated from Central Connecticut State University in 1971.
