Larson expressed his concerns about Social Security, honored firefighters, and celebrated a major achievement by a local basketball team.
On April 7, 2025, Rep. Larson shared his apprehensions regarding Social Security: “Trump-Musk and House Republicans are out to slash and privatize your Social Security benefits. They don’t need to just keep their hands off, they need to pay their fair share!”
Later the same day, he paid tribute to firefighters, stating, “As a co-chair of the Congressional Fire Services Caucus, I was proud to honor the 140 firefighters who died in the line of duty in 2024 and pay tribute to their incredible sacrifice. I will continue to support our firefighters and ensure they have the resources they need.”
On April 8, 2025, Larson expressed pride in his state’s athletic achievements, lauding the University of Connecticut Women’s Basketball team for their success. He commented, “Connecticut is so proud of what @UConnWBB has accomplished. Our UConn women set the record for the most national championship wins on Sunday, and Geno Auriemma is now the winningest college basketball coach of all time! We are the Basketball Capital of the World!”
