Charter Oak State College enrolls 1,549 undergrads

At Charter Oak State College, 91 percent of undergraduate students are nontraditional students - age 25 or older - and 69 percent are female, according to the latest disclosure from the U.S. Department of Education.

The four-year public institution in New Britain enrolled 1,641 students in fall 2018, including 1,549 in undergraduate and 92 in graduate programs, data shows. 29.2 percent of undergraduates transferred from another college or university.

87 percent of undergraduates are residents of Connecticut, and 13 percent are residents of other states.

The undergraduate student body is comprised mostly of students who identify as white (52 percent) and Black or African American (18 percent).
