Hartford-West Hartford-East Hartford metro surpass San Antonio-New Braunfels in 2019

The Hartford-West Hartford-East Hartford metro area exported $11.8 billion in 2019, more than exports from San Antonio-New Braunfels in 2019, according to the International Trade Administration.

A study from the Brookings Institute found competition between areas within the United States increases exports, which in turn generates stronger sales and more jobs for American workers.

The Hartford-West Hartford-East Hartford metro area consists of three counties.

The San Antonio-New Braunfels metro area comprises eight counties exporting $11.7 billion in 2019.

The metro area with the most exports was Houston-The Woodlands-Sugar Land with $129.7 billion exported.
