15.2% of households in Bristol received food stamps in 2020

Bristol ranked 29th in Connecticut for the percentage of households receiving food stamps in 2020, according to U.S. Census Bureau data.

There were 3,712 Bristol households (15.2 percent) who received food stamps. Bristol's population was 60,039 in 2020.

The city with the largest percentage of households receiving food stamps in the state was Poquonock Bridge, which had 208 of 525 households receiving food stamps, 24.4 percent more than Bristol. In 2020 the population of Poquonock Bridge was 1,640.

The city with the lowest percentage of households receiving food stamps in the state was Newtown, which had three of 718 households receiving food stamps, 14.8 percent less than Bristol. In 2020 the population of Newtown was 1,921.
