Of the 72,767 people living in New Britain city in 2019, 51.1 percent (37,176) were women and 48.9 percent (35,591) were men, according to U.S. Census Bureau data obtained by the Hartford Reporter.

Females 18 and over outnumbered males in the same age group by a ratio of 23,394-to-22,828. In the 65 and over age range, there were 5,548 females and 4,011 males.
