Hartford County’s 139 coaches earned an average salary of $82,814 in 2022, according to the U.S. Department of Education.

This is the second highest average salary per county earned by coaches at Connecticut post-secondary schools during 2022.

Hartford County is home to four post-secondary schools that paid coaches during 2022. Among them, Central Connecticut State University stood out with the highest average coaching salary of $116,377.

Male coaches of men's teams received $79,141 on average in Hartford County, while female coaches in charge of women's teams earned an average of $65,863.

Research from the Vanderbilt Owen Graduate School of Management found NCAA coaches are compensated like CEOs, with top coaches earning more than $1.5 million annually.
