John B. Larson, currently serving in the U.S. Congress representing Connecticut’s 1st district, shared his views on various national and international issues through a series of tweets on February 19, 2025. Larson, who has been in office since replacing Barbara Kennelly in 1999, expressed concerns about recent political developments involving former President Donald Trump and business magnate Elon Musk.

On February 19, 2025, Rep. John Larson criticized former President Donald Trump for allegedly breaking a promise made during a national television appearance regarding cuts to key social programs. "Last night, Donald Trump pledged on national TV that there would be no cuts to Medicare, Medicaid, or Social Security." Larson asserted that Trump had already gone back on his word.

Later that day, at 19:07 UTC, Larson announced legislative action aimed at billionaire Elon Musk by introducing the Ending DOGE Conflicts Act. "I introduced the Ending DOGE Conflicts Act to hold Elon Musk accountable." The bill seeks to prevent Musk from working until he submits a public financial disclosure and undergoes an ethics review.

In another tweet posted at 23:09 UTC on the same day, Larson reaffirmed his support for Ukraine amidst ongoing tensions with Russia. He condemned comments made by former President Trump as yielding to Russian interests under Vladimir Putin's leadership. "I stand unwaveringly with Ukraine in the face of unprovoked aggression." He urged Congressional Republicans to take a clear stance either supporting Russia or siding with Ukraine.
