John B. Larson, a long-serving Congressman representing Connecticut’s 1st district, shared a series of posts on social media addressing recent measures implemented under the Trump administration. Serving since 1999, Larson took to social media to express his concerns about policy changes affecting social services, education, and public health funding.

On March 26, 2025, Larson addressed the impact of recent administrative changes on social services. He asserted, "Under Trump-Musk, wait times have skyrocketed, the Social Security website keeps crashing & offices are being closed. They will continue their quest for cuts to pay for tax breaks for the wealthy. We cannot and will not back down from this fight to defend your EARNED BENEFITS!". Larson emphasized his commitment to protecting social benefits amidst these challenges.

On March 27, 2025, he continued to express his concerns regarding the plan to eliminate the Department of Education, stating, "Trump's plan to shut down the Department of Education could slash funding for 26 million students and 300,000 teachers nationwide. Connecticut could lose $155 million, all to pay for more tax cuts for billionaires! Our kids should come first, not the wealthiest one percent." Larson highlighted potential negative impacts on educational funding within his state and nationwide.

Later on March 27, 2025, Larson criticized the administration’s fiscal decisions affecting public health funding. He remarked, "The Trump Administration's cancellation of $150 million in funding for our state's efforts to tackle mental health & addiction - even bird flu and measles - is reckless and irresponsible. The entire CT delegation is fighting to reverse these cuts!" Larson underscored the imperative of reversing cuts detrimental to public health initiatives.
