Rep. John Larson used Twitter to express his views on recent political and legislative issues. Larson, who has been serving in the U.S. Congress representing Connecticut's 1st district since 1999, addressed several topics including budget cuts to senior services, bipartisan legislation addressing veterinarian shortages, and union rights for federal workers.
On March 27, Larson criticized efforts to cut senior services, linking them to attempts at privatizing services to benefit the wealthy. He stated, "Just like their efforts to gut Social Security, these cuts to senior services have nothing to do with 'government efficiency.' They want to privatize services & defund Meals on Wheels to pay for more tax breaks for the wealthy. Americans deserve the truth from Musk and Trump!"
The following day, Larson announced the introduction of bipartisan legislation aimed at addressing veterinarian shortages. The legislation is intended to make it more affordable for students to pursue a career in veterinary medicine. He communicated, "I introduced bipartisan legislation with @RepAdrianSmith to address veterinarian shortages in our communities. Our bill will make it more affordable for students to pursue veterinary career paths & support the well-being of livestock and the safety of our food supply." This post was made on March 28.
Later on March 28, Larson voiced support for federal workers' rights in opposition to a union-busting order attributed to President Trump. Larson stated, "I stand with @AFGENational and the one million workers targeted by President Trump's union-busting order. Trump and Musk want to gut Americans' benefits & the federal workforce to secure tax giveaways for the wealthy. We won't stay silent as they attack the dignity of work!"
