John B. Larson, a long-serving U.S. Congress member representing Connecticut's 1st District since 1999, recently shared his perspectives on critical issues via social media. On March 26, 2025, Larson commented on significant developments regarding Social Security and gun control in the United States.
On March 26, 2025, Larson expressed concern over a proposed plan by former President Donald Trump and entrepreneur Elon Musk, stating "Sources inside the Social Security Administration are confirming the worst. The Trump-Musk plan to cut phone services and lay off staff could grind operations to a halt. This isn't about efficiency. This is a back-door cut to your earned benefits."
Later the same day, Larson voiced support for a Supreme Court decision, stating "Ghost guns have no place on our streets. I'm glad the Supreme Court upheld President Biden's rule cracking down on untraceable firearms. We must do more to keep our communities safe from gun violence. It's time for universal background checks & an assault weapons ban."
In another post from March 26, 2025, Larson shared an update on public pushback against the Trump-Musk Social Security plan, remarking, "NEW: Americans from across the country are pushing back on Trump-Musk's cuts to Social Security, and they are feeling the pressure. As 10,000 Baby Boomers a day become eligible, it is not good enough to delay these cuts. They should be scrapped altogether!"
