John B. Larson, a U.S. Congressman representing Connecticut's 1st district since 1999, has recently voiced his concerns on social media regarding potential cuts to Social Security and the issue of wage inequality. His statements come amidst ongoing discussions about economic policies affecting Americans.

On March 24, 2025, Larson expressed concern over potential plans by Elon Musk and Donald Trump to reduce Social Security benefits. He stated, "Musk and Trump want to cut Social Security to pay for more tax breaks for the wealthy." He urged Republicans to decide whether they would support their constituents or align with billionaires.

The following day, March 25, 2025, Larson continued his critique of proposed changes to Social Security. He tweeted that the actions of Trump and Musk were hindering access to benefits, suggesting it was a covert attempt at reducing them. He demanded transparency from Elon Musk by stating, "Elon must come before Congress and come clean about his plans for your EARNED BENEFITS NOW."

In another tweet on March 25, 2025, Larson addressed the gender wage gap in America. Highlighting #EqualPayDay, he pointed out that women earn significantly less than men on average. He advocated for legislative action by promoting the Paycheck Fairness Act authored by Rosa DeLauro: "We must pass @rosadelauro’s #PaycheckFairness Act to close the wage gap once and for all."
