On March 12, 2025, Rep. Larson tweeted about potential disruptions to the Social Security Administration, stating that "Trump-Musk want to gut the Social Security Administration, which will mean the disruption and denial of your EARNED BENEFITS." He mentioned efforts by himself and his colleagues on the Ways and Means Committee to seek answers but noted that Republicans are obstructing their attempts to hold a vote on their Resolutions of Inquiry.

Later that day, at 16:56 UTC, Larson tweeted again highlighting ongoing Republican efforts in committee meetings to block his resolution demanding transparency from Trump and Musk regarding Social Security plans. He further revealed concerns about potential cuts to phone services for elderly and disabled Americans by referring to 'DOGE', questioning its efficiency: "Republicans are in committee RIGHT NOW to block my resolution demanding answers from Trump-Musk on Social Security. In a subsequent tweet at 19:37 UTC on March 12, Larson reported that his resolution compelling Trump and Musk to disclose their plan concerning Social Security was blocked from advancing to the House floor by Republicans. He accused them of allowing Trump and Musk unrestricted control over citizens' benefits: "My @WaysMeansCmte colleagues and I filed a resolution compelling Trump-Musk to turn over their plan to gut Social Security. Republicans just voted to block it from advancing to the House floor."
