Rep. John B. Larson has recently taken to social media to address several pressing issues. Representing Connecticut’s 1st district, Larson's communications highlight his opposition to certain policies and celebrate local achievements in sports.
On April 15, 2025, Larson posted about the importance of the Manufacturing Extension Partnership, stating that it supports nearly 1,000 jobs within the state and contributes approximately $274 million to the economy. He also shared that he, alongside Sen. Blumenthal, visited HABCO in Glastonbury to criticize the “Trump-Musk's cancellation of these investments in CT manufacturers & innovation” "The Manufacturing Extension Partnership supports nearly 1,000 jobs in our state and helps grow our economy to the tune of $274 million."
Later that same day, Larson addressed issues surrounding Social Security. He noted problems such as website crashes, increased wait times, and the closing of field offices. He associated these difficulties with budget cuts by Trump and Musk, which he claimed result in “delays and disruptions to your EARNED BENEFITS.” Larson and others protested at the Middletown field office, advocating to protect Social Security "Social Security's website is crashing, wait times are skyrocketing, and field offices are being closed."
On April 16, Larson shared his enthusiasm for sports, recognizing the achievements of Paige Bueckers, Kaitlyn Chen, and Aubrey Griffin, who are transitioning to the WNBA. He expressed his support and pride for these athletes, who he acknowledged will “always be part of #HuskyNation” "Great to see Paige Bueckers, Kaitlyn Chen, and Aubrey Griffin headed to the @WNBA."
