He criticized Elon Musk and Donald Trump for allegedly attempting to reduce Social Security benefits to facilitate tax breaks for billionaires, while affirming the Democratic Party's commitment to enhancing Social Security for Americans reliant on it.

The following day, April 9, he addressed the impact of recent fiscal policies with a tweet stating, "While Republicans push a budget plan to cut taxes for the wealthy, Trump is imposing tariffs that are a tax on YOU." He questioned whether the current administration would provide answers regarding these tariffs' impact at a Ways and Means Committee hearing, noting the potential $4,600 annual cost increase for average families.

Later on the same day, Larson expressed concerns over social inequality, tweeting, "Our fellow Americans are retiring into poverty and dying as they wait for disability benefits, but Elon Musk and Donald Trump want to take from them so billionaires can get a tax cut." He challenged Musk and Trump to contribute financially to ensure people receive the benefits they have earned.
