Cost of college went up for all students at the University of Hartford

Tuition and fees rose 4.6 percent for 2018-19 at the University of Hartford, according to recent data from the U.S. Department of Education.

Connecticut students paid $40,694 to attend the four-year private not-for-profit institution this year – $1,784 more than the $38,910 charged for 2017-18.

Data shows 99 percent of full-time undergraduates who started school in 2015-16 received student financial aid in some form. In all, 1,313 students received grants or scholarships totaling $30.9 million and 1,007 students took out student loans totaling more than $9.2 million.

Including all undergraduates (6,770), 4,424 students used grants or scholarships totaling $98.7 million, and 3,217 students took out $22.2 million in federal student loans.
