Cost of college went up for all students at Asnuntuck Community College

In-state tuition and fees rose 2.5 percent for 2018-19 at Asnuntuck Community College, according to recent data from the U.S. Department of Education.

Connecticut residents paid $4,464 to attend the two-year public institution this year – $108 more than the $4,356 charged for 2017-18.

Non-residents paid 196.4 percent more than residents this year, or $13,232. Their price tag grew 2.5 percent from $12,908 in 2017-18.

About 90 percent of the school's undergraduate population are Connecticut residents. And about 10 percent are residents of other states.

Data shows 77 percent of full-time undergraduates who started school in 2015-16 received student financial aid in some form. In all, 138 students received grants or scholarships totaling $681,721 and 60 students took out student loans totaling more than $273,661.

Including all undergraduates (1,858), 1,058 students used grants or scholarships totaling $4 million, and 315 students took out $1.6 million in federal student loans.
