This year the market will be held rain or shine through Saturday, October 14th and will once again be held at the Bristol Health Medical Care Center’s parking lot, located at 15 Riverside Avenue at Centre Square in downtown Bristol. Parking and entrance to the market will be accessible from Hope Street.
For the 2023 season, the Bristol Farmers Market is, again, being managed by the Bristol Rotary Club as a fundraiser for a variety of community service events and programs hosted by area non-profits.
“The Bristol Rotary Club is happy to be able to keep the Farmers Market downtown while construction continues at Centre Square,” stated Jim Albert of the Bristol Rotary Club. “We are very grateful and appreciate the partnership between the Rotary Club of Bristol, City of Bristol and Bristol Health that allows the Farmers Market to continue to be accessible to everyone in the community in this centrally-located downtown area. We also, wholeheartedly support the need to “shop local, buy local”.
The Bristol Farmers Market will offer products ranging from fresh vegetables, fruits, hemp, herbs and other products from local farms; to sweet treats and specialty baked goods; coffee; maple products; craft spirits; organic snacks; soaps, candles and other locally-produced, consumable products.
A new addition this year will be a weekly raffle. People who visit the market can enter the free raffle to win items donated by the vendors. Raffle slips will be available to fill out at the Welcome Rotary Club tent each week. There is no purchase necessary and will be open to everyone who visits the market.
The Bristol Farmers Market is an authorized SNAP/EBT Farmers Market and is recognized by the Connecticut Department of Agriculture as accepting payment vouchers from the Women, Infants, and Children (WIC) Farmers Market Nutrition Program and Senior Farmers Market Nutrition Program. All participating farms are certified by the Connecticut Department of Agriculture.
