Rep. John Larson, who has been serving in the U.S. Congress representing Connecticut's 1st district since 1999, recently shared his thoughts on several pressing issues via social media posts. The congressman addressed topics ranging from healthcare training and funding to legislative changes affecting health coverage and labor practices.

On October 24, 2024, Rep. Larson highlighted the efforts of Harriott Community Healthcare Academy in North Hartford, which is focused on training future certified nursing assistants (CNAs) and caregivers for long-term and at-home healthcare. He stated, "Harriott Community Healthcare Academy is training the next generation of CNAs and caregivers in North Hartford for long-term care and at-home health care. I'm fighting for more funding in Congress to help Harriott expand across the region, including East Granby & New Hartford."

Later that day, Rep. Larson expressed concerns about potential changes to healthcare legislation through Project 2025. He noted that "50 million people have gained health coverage since we passed the Affordable Care Act." He warned against policies that would "roll back health care protections & ban Medicare from negotiating prices," emphasizing the importance of maintaining coverage for those with pre-existing conditions.

On October 25, 2024, Rep. Larson joined over 130 congressional colleagues in seeking more transparency from Amazon regarding their labor practices and alleged anti-union activities. In his statement, he asserted that "They must comply with federal law and not interfere with the right to unionize." He stressed the necessity of protecting workers' collective bargaining rights.
