Rep. John Larson, a longstanding member of the U.S. Congress representing Connecticut's 1st district, recently shared several updates via social media regarding healthcare initiatives and federal funding aimed at addressing opioid overdose response efforts in Connecticut.

On November 25, 2024, Rep. Larson announced significant federal support for combating opioid overdoses in the state. He stated, "I announced $7 million in new federal funding with @ChrisMurphyCT and @SenBlumenthal to expand our state's opioid overdose response efforts. This grant will support partnerships between health care providers and law enforcement to continue to reduce fatalities across Connecticut."

Later that day, he highlighted the progress made during Open Enrollment for health coverage in 2025. According to his post on November 25, "Almost 500,000 Americans have gained health coverage for 2025 during Open Enrollment. Visit https://t.co/NTSnmAv1kF or call 1-855-805-4325 to enroll in a plan. With financial assistance we passed in Congress, most people are eligible for plans costing $10 or less per month!"

The following day, on November 26, Rep. Larson encouraged residents seeking assistance with selecting a healthcare plan for the upcoming year to utilize available resources. He mentioned, "Need help selecting a health care plan for 2025? Stop by an @AccessHealthCT in-person enrollment fair in December or call 1-855-805-4325 to shop for and enroll in health coverage. Thanks to the Inflation Reduction Act, most residents are eligible for low or no-cost plans."
