John Larson shares thoughts on Biden's birthday and regional rail expansion

Rep. John Larson, who has served in the U.S. Congress representing Connecticut's 1st district since 1999, shared several statements on social media addressing various topics of national interest.

On November 20, 2024, Rep. Larson wished President Biden a happy birthday and acknowledged his service to the country. In his tweet, Larson stated: "Happy birthday @POTUS! Congratulations on your decades of service to this country. It has been an honor to work with you to expand access to health care, rebuild our nation’s infrastructure, and strengthen our communities. Your leadership will be missed."

Later that day, Rep. Larson addressed the Transgender Day of Remembrance through another post at 18:19 UTC. He expressed solidarity against violence and discrimination towards transgender individuals by stating: "On Transgender Day of Remembrance, we mourn the trans lives lost to violence this year & stand together against hate in all its forms. I am committed to working with my colleagues to ensure everyone can live their lives authentically without fear of violence or discrimination."

In a subsequent message posted at 20:22 UTC on November 20th, Rep. Larson announced federal funding for expanding passenger rail services along the Hartford Line aimed at enhancing economic opportunities in the region. He wrote: "Federal funding we secured to expand passenger rail service along the Hartford Line will directly support more reliable and frequent service between Hartford and Springfield and grow economic opportunity across our region!"
