Rep. John Larson discusses health insurance deadline and Social Security needs

Rep. John Larson, who has been serving in the U.S. Congress representing Connecticut’s 1st district since 1999, recently shared a series of tweets addressing various issues pertinent to his constituents and national concerns.

On December 10, 2024, Rep. Larson reminded Connecticut residents that they have five days left to enroll in health insurance for coverage starting January 1st, 2025. He provided resources for enrollment by directing them to visit a website or call a designated number. " CT residents have 5 days left to enroll in health insurance to ensure coverage begins January 1st, 2025. Visit https://t.co/NTSnmAvzad or call 1-855-805-4325 to shop, compare, and enroll in an affordable health care plan."

On December 11, 2024, he highlighted the efficiency of Social Security's operations with minimal administrative overhead and advocated for additional resources rather than cuts. He emphasized the importance of these resources in ensuring timely benefits for approximately 70 million Americans. ".@SocialSecurity operates with less than 1% of administrative overhead. They don't need cuts. They need additional resources to continue to serve 70 million Americans and ensure they get their benefits without delay!"

The following day on December 12, Rep. Larson expressed his support for the Water Resources Development Act which aims at creating jobs and enhancing community resilience against extreme weather conditions through infrastructure projects in Hartford and Newington focused on anti-flooding measures and clean water access. "I voted for the Water Resources Development Act to: create good-paying jobs make communities resilient to extreme weather advance anti-flooding infrastructure projects in Hartford and Newington I will continue to support efforts to connect communities with clean water!"
