Rep. John Larson, a member of the U.S. Congress representing Connecticut’s 1st district since 1999, recently shared his views on labor rights and social security via social media. The congressman has been an advocate for workers' rights and is actively involved in legislative efforts to support these causes.

On March 6, 2025, Rep. Larson expressed his support for unions and their role in advocating for better wages and working conditions. He announced his co-sponsorship of the PRO Act, stating that it aims to protect the right to organize, hold employers accountable for workplace rights violations, and safeguard fair union elections. "Unions are critical in the fight for better wages and working conditions, now more than ever."

Later that day, he addressed concerns regarding Republican efforts to alter earned benefits programs. Rep. Larson criticized what he referred to as "Trump-Musk" initiatives aimed at funding tax cuts for the wealthy by targeting benefits like Social Security. He emphasized that Democrats are committed to defending these programs for seniors, veterans, and disabled workers: "Our message is clear – hands off!"

In another post on March 6th, Rep. Larson participated in a live event with Social Security Works and Martin O'Malley to oppose plans they believe would undermine Social Security. During this event, he called on billionaires to contribute fairly: "LIVE NOW: I’m with @SSWorks and @MartinOMalley to take on Trump-Musk’s plan to gut #SocialSecurity."
