John B. Larson, a long-serving member of the U.S. Congress representing Connecticut’s 1st district, recently shared his views on various political issues through a series of tweets. Known for his advocacy in protecting social welfare programs, Larson's recent statements focus on Social Security and Medicaid amidst proposed budgetary changes.

On March 20, 2025, Larson expressed his concerns regarding a plan involving Donald Trump and Elon Musk that aims to cut Social Security benefits. In a tweet posted at 14:30 UTC, he stated: "Glad to join Rachel Maddow on @MSNBC to discuss the Trump-Musk plan to cut Social Security. Trump has told Musk to find $2T to pay for tax cuts for the wealthy, and they're going after Social Security to get it. We are fighting to protect your hard-earned benefits, not cut them!"

Later that day at 17:00 UTC, Larson addressed issues related to data privacy and alleged attempts by Elon Musk's team to undermine Social Security services. He tweeted: 'DOGE' has accessed the confidential records of millions of Americans. Now they want to gut Social Security by closing field offices, cutting phone service, and firing workers. Enough is enough. Chairman Smith, bring Elon Musk and his cronies before our committee UNDER OATH NOW!"

In another tweet posted at 19:04 UTC on the same day, Larson stood with disability rights organizations against proposed cuts in Medicaid by Republicans led by Donald Trump. He stated: "I stood with @disrightsct, @TheArcUS & residents in Hartford to tell Donald Trump and the Republicans HANDS OFF MEDICAID! Their budget could kick more than 100,000 of my constituents off Husky, all to pay for more tax cuts for the wealthy. We're not backing down from this fight!"
