Rep. John Larson, who has been serving in the U.S. Congress representing Connecticut's 1st district since 1999, recently shared a series of tweets on various topics ranging from gender equality to social security and economic development.
On March 8, 2025, Rep. Larson tweeted about Women's History Month, emphasizing the importance of recognizing women's contributions and committing to gender equality. He stated: "During Women’s History Month, we honor the contributions women across our nation have made and remain committed to gender equality and closing the wage gap once and for all."
Two days later, on March 10, 2025, he expressed concerns regarding data security within the Social Security Administration. In his tweet, he mentioned potential risks posed by Elon Musk's involvement with cryptocurrency DOGE: "We continue to hear stories from inside the Social Security Administration about how Elon Musk and his 'DOGE' are putting Americans' data at risk. A week ago, even their own Acting Commissioner said they may break the system. Hands off Social Security!"
Later that day, Rep. Larson highlighted an initiative aimed at fostering innovation through research and development (R&D). Collaborating with Rep. Ron Estes, he introduced a bill focused on restoring immediate R&D expensing: "Research and development create good-paying jobs and boost our competitiveness. My bill with @RepRonEstes will restore immediate R&D expensing so businesses can invest in cutting-edge technologies & our workers continue to lead the world in innovation."
