Rep. John Larson, a long-serving member of the U.S. Congress representing Connecticut's 1st district, has recently expressed his views on social media regarding both sports and political issues. Larson, who has been in office since 1999 after succeeding Barbara Kennelly, took to Twitter to share his thoughts on the University of Connecticut Women's Basketball team's recent victory and voiced concerns over proposed changes to Social Security.

On March 11, 2025, Rep. Larson congratulated the University of Connecticut Women's Basketball team for their success in the Big East Tournament. He stated: "Congratulations @UConnWBB on your Big East Tournament win! We'll be cheering you on at the NCAA Tournament as you work to bring home another national title."

The following day, March 12, 2025, Larson addressed economic policy concerns involving prominent figures Elon Musk and Donald Trump. He tweeted: "It’s clear — Elon Musk and Donald Trump are going after Social Security to provide another tax cut for themselves and their billionaire friends. Democrats are united against these cuts. Will three Republicans join us to stand up for their constituents?"

Later that same day, he further elaborated on this issue by referencing statements made by Musk and Trump about Social Security. Larson posted: "Elon Musk called Social Security a Ponzi scheme and Donald Trump called it a scam. Make no mistake - they want to slash & privatize Americans' benefits. My resolution compels them to provide answers, but Republicans are trying to stop it from even coming to a vote in the House."
