Representative John Larson, currently serving in the U.S. Congress and representing Connecticut's 1st District, shared his views on recent developments via his social media account. Larson, who has been in Congress since 1999, addressed several issues concerning veterans, Social Security, and a nod to his home state's sports culture.

On April 7, 2025, John Larson criticized the cancellation of a program crucial for veterans. He stated, "Trump just canceled a program that helps keep veterans in their homes. The 80,000 veterans facing foreclosure in our country may have nowhere to turn. We need to honor their service with action, not go back on our promises after they served with honor."

Later the same day, Larson applauded bipartisan efforts against cuts to the Social Security Administration, while also expressing disappointment. He remarked, "Glad to see a group of Senate Republicans stand with Democrats against cuts to the Social Security Administration. Shame on the others for voting it down. Trump and Musk's cuts will make it harder to access your EARNED BENEFITS. Where are House Republicans?"

In a lighter note on the theme of sports, Larson declared, "Basketball Capital of the World " referencing Connecticut's significant basketball culture.
