HARTFORD, CONN (February 2, 2023) – Today, the City of Hartford announced that temporary daytime warming centers will be open today, Thursday, February 2nd and Friday, February 3rd due to extremely cold conditions forecasted for the remainder of this week.
“We’ve enjoyed relatively warm weather this winter season, but with this blast of extremely cold weather, we want to make sure every resident has access to warm shelter during the daytime,” said Mayor Bronin. “I encourage all residents in need of warmth and shelter to visit one of our warming centers, and I want to thank our Fire Department and Health and Human Services teams, as well as Catholic Charities, for stepping up to provide these warming centers.”
The City is also supporting overnight warming centers, which residents can utilize through the weekend. Hartford adults seeking an overnight warming center should visit 110 Washington Street, while young adults and families with children should visit the Marshall House at 333 Homestead Avenue. Both will be open 24 hours a day beginning tonight at 7 PM and lasting until Sunday at 12 PM.
