East Hartford, CT – On April 21, Rep. John B. Larson (CT-01) released the following statement after the Supreme Court halted restrictions imposed by lower courts that would have limited access to mifepristone, a common abortion medication used nationwide that has been approved by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA).
“Today’s Supreme Court decision means mifepristone will remain available for the time being, but we will continue to fight this attack on safe and legal abortion and the FDA,” said Larson. “Republicans are upending decades of bipartisan work to ensure the FDA is the gold-standard of drug-safety so they can impose their extreme agenda and deny women bodily autonomy. I will continue to join with my colleagues in Congress to stand up for reproductive freedom and access to health care.”
