Washington, D.C. - Rep. John B. Larson (CT-01) welcomed Tejal Vallam, of Rocky Hill, Connecticut, to Washington to attend Indian Prime Minister Modi’s address to Congress.
“I am honored to have Tejal join me in Washington, D.C.,” said Larson. “She is an advocate in her community, a business owner, and serves as chair of her Democratic Town Committee. The daughter of Indian immigrants, her family represents the very best parts of the American Dream. I am glad she joined me and it was a pleasure welcoming her to Washington.”
“My sincerest thanks to Congressman John Larson for inviting me to the US Capitol to hear India’s PM Narendra Modi’s address to the joint session of US Congress. A truly once in a lifetime opportunity to witness our two great nations, US & India, come together on a shared vision of prosperity and progress! Congressman John Larson has always valued the pride and spirit of the Indian community he represents in CT and today is just one of the many ways he personally connects with his constituents. In the words of PM Modi, ‘long live India-US friendship.’ Thank you, Congressman Larson, for sharing this day with me and our Indian community,” said Vallam.
