Rep. John Larson, who has been serving in the U.S. Congress representing Connecticut's 1st district since 1999, recently shared his views and legislative efforts through a series of tweets. Larson, a proponent of environmental protection and social justice, has taken steps to address climate change, honor historical tragedies, and provide practical solutions for tax filing.

On January 25, 2025, Rep. Larson highlighted his commitment to environmental issues by expressing his support for green energy investments over the past four years. He announced that he is co-sponsoring a resolution condemning President Trump's decision to withdraw from the Paris Climate Agreement. Larson emphasized the importance of continuing global efforts to combat climate change: "Over the last four years, we worked to invest in green energy & protect access to clean air and water. I'm cosponsoring a resolution condemning President Trump's order to leave the Paris Climate Agreement and urging the continuation of our global efforts to fight climate change."

On January 27, 2025, Larson took a moment to commemorate Holocaust Remembrance Day. He stressed the importance of remembering those who suffered during the Holocaust and reiterated his commitment to combating antisemitism and hate: "On Holocaust Remembrance Day, we honor the millions killed and persecuted during the Holocaust. We will always speak out against antisemitism and hate in all of its forms and vow to do everything we can to prevent these unspeakable acts from ever happening again."

Later that day on January 27, 2025, Larson announced that IRS Direct File was now open for Connecticut residents thanks to recent legislation passed in Congress. This initiative provides residents with an additional free option for filing their taxes: " IRS Direct File is now open!
