Rep. John Larson, a longstanding member of the U.S. Congress representing Connecticut’s 1st district since 1999, has recently expressed his views on various political issues through a series of tweets. These statements address concerns over healthcare policies, reproductive rights, and actions taken by former President Donald Trump.

On January 22, 2025, Rep. Larson criticized one of President Trump's initial executive orders that "rolls back efforts to reduce drug prices for Americans on Medicare and Medicaid." He emphasized the importance of lowering drug costs for families and seniors rather than increasing them. "We should be working to lower drug costs for families and seniors, not raise them!"

Later that day, Larson commented on the status of abortion rights in the United States following the overturning of Roe v. Wade. He noted that "52 years later, 19 states have criminalized abortion access," attributing these changes to Republican actions against reproductive health care. Larson affirmed that Democrats are committed to restoring reproductive freedom. "Democrats are fighting to restore reproductive freedom!"

In another tweet posted on January 22, 2025, Larson addressed former President Trump's decision on his first day in office to release over 1,500 individuals involved in insurrection activities. This group included leaders of white supremacist organizations and violent rioters who had attacked police officers during events such as those witnessed on January 6th. Larson stressed the importance of remembering these events: "We will never forget what we saw on January 6th."
