Rep. John Larson, a long-serving member of the U.S. Congress representing Connecticut's 1st district, has recently taken to social media to express his views on significant national issues. The tweets cover topics such as the January 6th Capitol attack and the need for Social Security enhancements.

On January 21, 2025, Rep. Larson addressed the violent events at the Capitol, stating that "When violent insurrectionists attacked the Capitol to try to overturn a free and fair election, five police officers died and more than 140 were injured. These dangerous pardons include rioters who brutally assaulted police officers and the leaders of white supremacist groups."

In another tweet posted on January 21, 2025, he reflected on former President Donald Trump's attempts to influence public memory regarding these events: "No matter how hard Donald Trump tries to erase history, the American people will never forget what we saw on January 6th, and his legacy will forever be tarnished."

Later that day, Rep. Larson shifted focus to Social Security reform: "Congress hasn’t enhanced Social Security for all beneficiaries since the 1970s. It's time to act. Seventy million Americans rely on their earned benefits to make ends meet. Let's vote to enhance benefits and cut taxes for seniors by asking the wealthy to finally pay their fair share!"
