East Hartford, CT – On June 29, Rep. John B. Larson (CT-01) released the following statement after the assault of State Rep. Maryam Khan on Eid al-Adha:
“My heart goes out to State Rep. Maryam Khan, who was attacked at an Eid al-Adha service in Hartford yesterday. I am grateful to the bystanders who leapt to Rep. Khan’s defense and our local law enforcement for acting quickly to arrest the assailant," said Larson. "I stand in solidarity with Rep. Khan, her family, and Connecticut’s entire Muslim community. No one should feel unsafe openly practicing their faith.”
