On October 11, 2024, Rep. Larson announced that he had worked to secure federal funding for financial literacy initiatives in Hartford. "I worked to secure federal funding for new financial literacy initiatives in Hartford so everyone has the tools to get ahead." The funds will enable the Hispanic Federation to partner with four community organizations to offer multilingual workshops and services.
Later that day, Rep. Larson extended his best wishes for Yom Kippur observance. He expressed a desire for peace and reflection during this time of renewal. "To all who are observing in Connecticut and around the world, I wish you a peaceful Yom Kippur full of reflection and renewal."
On October 12, 2024, Rep. Larson commemorated Matthew Shepard's death anniversary by recalling legislative efforts against hate crimes. "26 years ago, Matthew Shepard died after being attacked simply because he was gay." He highlighted the passage of the Matthew Shepard and James Byrd Jr. Hate Crimes Prevention Act as part of honoring Shepard's legacy.
