Rep. John Larson, who has been serving in the U.S. Congress representing Connecticut’s 1st district since 1999, recently shared several updates on his social media platform. These updates cover a range of topics including consumer protection measures, senior citizen welfare, and honoring military veterans.

On October 17, 2024, Rep. Larson highlighted a new regulation aimed at simplifying the process of canceling subscriptions. He stated: "Ever gotten frustrated while trying to cancel a subscription? The new “click-to-cancel” rule will make it easier to cancel your unwanted subscriptions. Democrats and the Biden-Harris Administration are committed to supporting consumers and lowering costs!"

Later that day, Larson discussed his meeting with seniors in Colebrook regarding legislative efforts to bolster Medicare and Social Security. He remarked: "I met with seniors in Colebrook today to discuss our work in Congress to strengthen Medicare & Social Security. We passed the Inflation Reduction Act so Medicare can directly negotiate drug prices. Now, Democrats are working to enhance Social Security and cut taxes for seniors."

On October 18, 2024, he participated in an event honoring unclaimed veterans' remains in Middletown. Larson expressed: "It was an honor to come together with veterans in Middletown to conduct final military honors for Private First Class Mario Nello DeVito, Private James Dickinson, and Specialist Richard Robert Thurston, whose remains were unclaimed. Let us never forget their service & sacrifice."
