Rep. John Larson, a longstanding U.S. Congress member representing Connecticut's 1st district, has shared insights and updates through recent social media posts. Larson, who has served in Congress since 1999 after replacing Barbara Kennelly, has highlighted significant legislative achievements and local community engagements.

On October 18, 2024, Rep. Larson addressed his efforts to repeal the "Don't Ask, Don't Tell" policy. He emphasized the importance of recognizing servicemembers for their service rather than their personal lives. Larson expressed gratitude towards President Biden for enabling troops previously discharged under this policy to access their benefits. "I worked to repeal Don't Ask, Don't Tell because it shouldn't matter who our servicemembers are or who they love."

On October 19, 2024, Larson visited the Harriott Community Healthcare Academy at North Hartford's Swift Factory. During his visit, he engaged with students and graduates pursuing careers in healthcare and committed to securing new funding to expand training opportunities across the region. "It was a pleasure to visit the Harriott Community Healthcare Academy at North Hartford's Swift Factory."

On October 21, 2024, Rep. Larson announced the commencement of early voting in Connecticut for the first time ever. He encouraged constituents to participate by casting their ballots at polling locations available until November 3rd and provided resources for finding early voting locations and hours."For the first time ever, early voting begins in Connecticut today!"
