Rep. John Larson, a member of the U.S. Congress representing Connecticut's 1st district since 1999, has been vocal on several issues via social media. His recent posts cover topics from abortion rights to senior benefits and educational initiatives.

On October 23, 2024, Larson addressed the issue of abortion restrictions following the overturning of Roe v. Wade. He noted that "Since Roe was overturned, 21 states have enacted abortion restrictions. Now, Republicans’ Project 2025 includes a plan to impose a national abortion ban." He emphasized the Democratic commitment to restoring access to abortion because they "trust women to make their own health care decisions."

On October 24, 2024, Larson highlighted concerns regarding Social Security and seniors' benefits: "Donald Trump and his Republican allies in Congress continue to target seniors' hard-earned benefits for cuts." He outlined the Democrats' goals of enhancing Social Security benefits, extending solvency, and cutting taxes for seniors while advocating for the passage of Social Security 2100.

Later that day, he participated in an educational event at Mayberry Elementary School as part of United Way's Read for the Record initiative: "I stopped by Mayberry Elementary School for @unitedwayinc’s Read for the Record event." This nationwide effort aims to support children's development and foster an interest in reading from a young age.
