Rep. John Larson, a longstanding member of the U.S. Congress representing Connecticut’s 1st district, has shared updates on recent legislative achievements and community engagements through his social media posts.
On October 29, 2024, Larson highlighted new consumer protection legislation for airline passengers. He stated, "Earlier this year, we passed legislation to improve consumer protections for airline passengers. Starting today, airlines are now required to grant customers automatic refunds for canceled flights, delayed baggage return, and disrupted in-flight services!"
In another post dated October 30, 2024, Larson discussed discussions with East Hartford residents regarding Social Security reforms. He mentioned the Democratic Party's plans to enhance benefits and reduce taxes for seniors while emphasizing the need for Congressional action. "It was great to hear from residents in East Hartford yesterday and discuss the need to act on Social Security. Democrats have a plan to enhance benefits, extend solvency, and cut taxes for seniors. 50 years since Congress last improved Social Security, it's time for a vote!"
Later that day, Larson expressed enthusiasm about meeting with Airbus CEO Robin Hayes in Hartford alongside Senator Blumenthal. He praised Connecticut's leadership in aerospace innovation and committed to supporting manufacturing jobs in the state. "I was thrilled to welcome @Airbus CEO Robin Hayes to Hartford with @SenBlumenthal today. Connecticut's manufacturing supply chain leads the nation in aerospace innovation. I will continue to work with my colleagues & the private sector to support good-paying manufacturing jobs!"
